वैवाहिक फसवणुकीची प्रकरणे वाढली आहेत. थोडी काळजी घेतल्यास तुम्ही सुरक्षित राहू शकता.

धोक्याची लक्षणे

• भेटण्यापूर्वी किंवा ओळख होण्याआधीच पैशांची मागणी (भेट, कस्टम, आजारपण, गुंतवणूक)
• व्हिडिओ कॉल किंवा प्रत्यक्ष भेटीस नकार
• खूप सुंदर फोटो पण माहिती अस्पष्ट किंवा वारंवार बदलणारी
• लग्नासाठी घाई, किंवा गुप्तता ठेवण्याचा आग्रह
• वेगळ्या खात्यावर किंवा वैयक्तिक UPI वर पैसे पाठवण्याची सूचना

सुरक्षित राहण्यासाठी

• दोन्ही कुटुंबांनी नातेवाईक आणि ओळखीच्या लोकांमार्फत चौकशी करा.
• पहिली भेट सार्वजनिक ठिकाणी, कुटुंबासोबत ठेवा.
• कोणालाही वैयक्तिक पैसे पाठवू नका; सभासदत्वाचे पैसे फक्त अधिकृत ऑनलाइन पेमेंटने द्या.
• OTP, बँक तपशील किंवा आधार क्रमांक अनोळखी व्यक्तीला देऊ नका.
• शंका आल्यास त्या प्रोफाईलची तक्रार करा आणि संपर्क थांबवा.

Warning signs

• Refusing a video call or an in-person meeting
• Very attractive photos but vague or changing details
• Rushing towards marriage or insisting on secrecy
• Asking you to send money to a personal account or UPI

How to stay safe

• Both families should check through relatives and known people.
• Hold the first meeting in a public place, with family.
• Never send personal money; pay membership fees only through official online payment.
• Do not share OTPs, bank details or Aadhaar numbers with strangers.
• If in doubt, report the profile and stop contact.

Choosing a marriage bureau

In Maharashtra, marriage bureaus fall under the Maharashtra Regulation of Marriage Bureaus and Registration of Marriages Act, 1998. Check the bureau's registration, address and phone number, and ask for fees and refund rules in writing.
